The Czech software company Etnetera is entering the Danish market with a clear position: most companies do not need more developers. They need a partner who understands the product, takes responsibility for it, and is still there two years later.
A development partnership with Škoda on their companion app. Clients such as the major bank ČSOB and the retail chain Rossmann. And more than 450 people in Prague. Etnetera has established itself as one of the leading providers of apps and custom digital products in its home market. Now the company is setting up a physical presence in Denmark – its first market outside the Czech Republic.
"Denmark is one of Europe's most digitally mature markets, and Danish companies are used to setting high standards for both quality and collaboration. They want more than extra hands – and that fits well with how we work," says Miloš Felix, CEO of Etnetera Flow.
Beyond traditional outsourcing
Digital products have become standard infrastructure. Most companies already have an app, a customer portal, or a platform that their business depends on. The challenge is no longer building something from scratch – it is keeping critical products reliable, performant and relevant over time.
Etnetera has been working with companies across Europe on exactly this kind of problem for several years. The focus in Denmark will be the same: long-term partnerships on products that already matter to the business.
"The role of a partner is no longer to build an app and move on. It is to understand how a product fits into the business, take responsibility for how it performs, and help it evolve. That includes architecture, operations and the decisions that come up along the way," says Miloš Felix.
This is also where AI is changing the work in practice. Etnetera is already building agent-based systems with clients – automating parts of knowledge work and changing how digital products are operated day to day. That kind of work requires a different approach to architecture and delivery than a standard development project.
The case for Central European partnerships
Etnetera points to the practical advantages of working with a Central European team rather than a traditional offshore setup.
"Our clients get experienced teams and reliable delivery without the usual trade-offs. Copenhagen to Prague is under an hour and a half by air. We work in the same time zone and share a direct, non-hierarchical culture that is not far from the Danish one," says Miloš Felix.
Although Etnetera has only recently established its official presence in Denmark, the market is not new to the company. It has previous experience scaling digital products into Denmark, most notably through its work with Sanitino, where it supported their expansion across European markets including the Danish one.
First local project: StoryHunt
With its new focus on Denmark, Etnetera has completed its first project for a Danish client: the start-up StoryHunt. A dedicated development team worked closely with Storyhunt to launch a new version of their app.
"I have always kept product development in-house, so this was my first experience with outsourcing – and honestly, it has been a good one. Etnetera handled onboarding quickly and was responsive throughout the project. Sebastian, their local contact, and the team in Prague were flexible when timelines or priorities changed, which helped keep development moving," says Mathias Mølgaard, CEO and founder of StoryHunt.
With its presence now established in Denmark, Etnetera is looking to build long-term partnerships with Danish companies developing digital products.
