ROCKWOOL manufactures stone wool insulation that improves the energy efficiency, fire resilience and acoustic performance of buildings.

The company decided to build the Mistr Fachman partner club for tradespeople and installation firms, where they can earn rewards and become certified ROCKWOOL partners.

Before development of the web portal began, it needed to validate whether there would be genuine interest in the club among tradespeople and whether the investment was justified.

Highlights of the Collaboration

  • Two-phase user research before design and before development
  • Designed a partner club based on real usage scenarios
  • Reduced risk of misaligned investment
  • Supported launch to ensure early adoption among target users

Challenges and Objectives

Approach

We structured the collaboration around validation first, followed by design and launch support.

Discovery and Validation

The collaboration began with stakeholder workshops and in-depth research among tradespeople and installation companies. The objective was to understand what drives engagement among tradespeople and whether a partner club would be used in practice.

The research showed that adoption depends less on rewards themselves and more on how easily tradespeople can understand and use the club in their daily work.

Partner Club Concept and UX/UI Design

Based on validated insights, we designed the structure, logic and experience of the Mistr Fachman partner club. The focus was not only on interface design, but on aligning incentives, communication, and user journeys into one coherent system.

The result was a concept grounded in real usage scenarios and ready for long-term evolution.

Launch Support

We supported the launch across digital and offline channels to ensure the club was clearly understood and adopted by the target audience from the start.

Results

The structured validation phase reduced the risk of building a platform that would not be used and gave ROCKWOOL a clear direction for long-term partner engagement.

The final platform concept establishes a scalable framework that ROCKWOOL can expand as its partner ecosystem grows.

The project showed that validating a product concept before development can significantly reduce risk and increase the likelihood of adoption.

“I appreciated that Etnetera didn't just think about how the portal would look, but above all how it would be used. Throughout the project, they worked to understand the needs of the craftsmen the portal is being built for, and they came forward with their own recommendations and ideas. The result is a solution that is clear, makes sense, and one I trust users will find easy to navigate.”
