Project Overview
StoryHunt is a Copenhagen-based travel tech company developing a mobile app for self-guided audio walks and interactive city exploration.
StoryHunt was transitioning to a new mobile architecture while preparing a new version of the app for release. The challenge was to ensure a stable rollout without disrupting existing users or access to purchased content.
Highlights of the Collaboration
- Launch of StoryHunt 2.0 during a transition to native-hybrid architecture
- Preparation and release of iOS and Android applications
- Beta distribution and store submission
- Validation of user migration and continuity of purchased content
- Focused QA on critical user paths and migration scenarios
Challenges and Objectives
Approach
We took ownership of the release layer and focused on stabilising the application across both platforms during the transition.
Rather than treating QA as a final step, we focused on critical user paths and migration scenarios, ensuring users retained access to their purchased content.
We validated key native capabilities, including geolocation and push notifications, to ensure consistent behaviour across platforms. We also prepared documentation to support future releases managed by the client.
Results
The transition was completed without disrupting existing users or access to purchased content, which was a critical requirement for the business. The application was successfully approved in both the App Store and Google Play.
The project established a stable build and release setup, allowing the client team to continue development and manage future releases independently. It also showed that release phases during architectural transitions require focused validation of user continuity, not just technical readiness.
The collaboration combined the local presence of our Country Manager in Denmark with delivery from our Prague team, enabling fast communication and alignment during the release phase.
