UX Designer with a Strong Research Focus

We're redesigning an internal tool that bankers use to help clients apply for a mortgage online. The tool shows bankers which steps the client still needs to complete, what needs to be fixed, and how to move the client forward based on which documents have already been submitted. The tool grew organically over time, and now we need to open it up to a wider group of bankers, including people without a deep IT background — and it's becoming clear that the current interface isn't quite intuitive for them.

We don't have a ready-made list of "this is wrong, fix this." Figuring that out is part of the job itself, not something you'll be handed as a starting brief.

What you'll do

• Map the main use cases and how bankers actually use the tool in practice. Find out where and why they most often make mistakes.
• Lead stakeholder interviews with key people on the project — some of whom you'll find at our Ostrava headquarters.
• Identify the main problems and opportunities for improvement.
• Design concrete scenarios and solutions, validating and testing them continuously with real users.
• Take selected solutions through to prototypes that will serve as the basis for developers.

What we need from you

• Strong experience in UX research — user and stakeholder interviews, observing real-world product usage, and synthesizing findings into clear conclusions.
• The ability to break down a complex problem (and the mortgage application process is certainly not trivial) and turn it into a working design.
• Experience designing and testing solution scenarios — not just final UI.
• Independence in a situation where the brief isn't fully defined upfront, and a willingness to structure it yourself.
• Comfort leading interviews and working with people across teams and locations.
